The Sacred Pause

As we enter week six of the COVID -19 pandemic, I wanted to reach out to you. We know that our experience now is unique and unlike anything our generation has ever witnessed..

We don’t know how temporary this is, but we know we will survive and become different versions of ourselves forever.  These are hard and uncertain times and we are bombarded with confusing and concerning information on a day to day basis. Worry is all around us!  Unlike personal fears that can be individual, this is a collective concern that we can all relate to.

We can choose to see that we are in this together as a human race. If we help one another and reach out to each other, we can lift one another up. We can choose to show up and show love –  by caring and sharing what is helping get us through. I, for one, am extremely grateful for my personal yoga practice. It reminds me to breathe, pause and go inward for answers when I feel overwhelmed with what I cannot control..

Right now, more than ever, we need to practice mindfulness. Our human race is very anxious and fearful about our physical and financial well-being, which puts most of us in a state of chronic stress as everything seems a bit out of control. We can regain control through our thinking. Meditation and yoga has been shown to bring you peace, balance and reduce stress.

Did you know that you have the ability in your brain to set off dopamine, flooding the body with healthy and positive feelings? A serotonin release brings feelings of balance and peace to the brain. When you practice acts of kindness to yourself and others, you have the ability to put your brain and body in a calmer state. You can not be anxious or angry when you experience love.

So how has COVID-19 affected Flow to You? Due to CDC guidelines and cancellations of athletic programs, we are not able to send our teachers, massage therapists and workshop leaders on site, but we are still providing services online. We are so grateful for our clients that have continued to allow us to service their staff. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you.

We have been especially grateful and happy to hear how our mindfulness services have positively supported professionals in the financial, legal and educational fields to cope during this hard time.  Earlier in 2020 when we provided these services, who could never have predicted where we would be today and how these services would support our clients.

We want you to know that our teachers and partners with Flow to You are available to provide these practices to you. If you would like to set up a complimentary webinar on mindfulness or a group meditation or yoga class, please contact us. We want to be sure to provide these services to our community during these difficult times.

At Flow to You, we have a two-fold mission:

  • To support our leaders and teachers financially and professionally

  • To help all organizations and their people through this difficult time.

As we take this sacred pause and spend more time with our immediate family and ourselves, let’s lead with love and follow with kindness.
